Play Trailer Play Screener Contact Sales Collection: Stacey DooleyWith exclusive and unprecedented access to the British Army’s covert combat programme, this inspirational documentary follows ordinary Ukrainian civilians as they undertake intensive training in order to fight on the frontline against Russia.
Over five weeks, presenter Stacey Dooley follows the recruits as they learn to survive, be lethal, and prepare for deployment
Stacey says: “These raw recruits go through one of the most relentless training programmes the British Army has ever devised. The Ukrainian men I came to know over a few short weeks were incredibly impressive. I think of them every day and hope their training will keep them alive.”
Stacey meets florist and gardener Mykola: he hopes for victory so that he can marry his girlfriend. Artem is a jeweller whose relationship with his girlfriend back home is under strain, but he is fighting for his 6-yr-old son’s future. Finally, Pasha, a welder who was working abroad when the invasion began: he fears going into battle will mean never seeing his parents again, but the British army trainers see leadership potential in him and quickly push him to take charge of his unit.
What the Press Say:
