Play Trailer Play Screener Contact Sales FormatIn this ground breaking documentary, Dr Christian Jessen puts three of the biggest self-confessed hypochondriacs on the front line of the NHS. Will this process help these ‘worried well’ stop self-diagnosing something very serious every time they catch a cold?
The rise in ‘health anxiety’ as it is now medically known, is linked to ease of access to Dr Google; leading people to self-diagnose and demand treatment and scans for an array of ailments they don’t actually have. Not only are their lives dominated by their anxiety but those of their families may be strongly affected as well.
Dr Christian takes our patients out to meet others who are living with, and being treated for, the illnesses and diseases that they fear most. Our unique experiment will expose the show’s contributors to the reality of NHS frontline services, including a GP practice, a major UK teaching hospital and an Ambulance service. Will this process help these ‘worried well’ stop self-diagnosing something very serious every time they catch a cold? And could it potentially put their knowledge and obsession with their own health to good use within the NHS?
